The Car

Body

2005 Ford Mustang, all carbon fibre including rear wing and spill plates, incorporating the latest technology in aerodynamics.

Engine

Brad Anderson 500 cubic inch (8.2 liter) aluminium billet block & heads V8. Forged Venolia or J & E pistons, steel billet crank, 2 valves per cylinder, 1.950in stainless inconnel exhaust valves, 2.40in titanium inlet valves, two spark plugs per cylinder (Autolite 50), Dual 44 amp magnetos and coils with crank trigger MSD timing retard. John Force Racing supercharger overdriven by 18% to give 42psi manifold pressure. RCD crank support (which eliminates blower belt loading) Callies cam gear drive for special camshaft incorporating firing order 4/7 switch. Dry sump lubrication system. Oil tank is located to the left hand side of the fuel tank.

Fuel System

18 gall fuel tank located at the front of the chassis (Red bottles on each side are fire extinguishers) Waterman fuel pump delivering 84 gallons per min @ 8000 Engine RPM. Electronic & Pneumatic controlled stewart 12 stage fuel management system. 10 fuel injectors above supercharger, 8 injectors in inlet manifold and 8 in each cylinder head. Total of 34 fuel injectors. Approximate fuel consumption is 12 gallons per quarter mile. (Or, if you like, 48 gallons per mile!)

Transmission

Direct drive, Rob Moore reveser. Clutch control Hydraulic / Electronic timers controlling Cannon system. Trick Titanium clutch can.

Clutch

AFT 18 lever all titanium pressure plate

Chassis

2005 Mckinney Slip joint design constructed from 1.25in chrome molybedenum tube (Unpainted)

Brakes

Carbon Fibre Disc brakes and pads on all four wheels operated by hand lever to the right hand side of steering wheel. Two 14ft X-shaped parachutes.

Wheels/Tyres

Front; 15x5in alloys with treaded tyres, 50psi. Rear; 16x17in wheels with 36in Goodyear Eagle slicks inflated to 6psi.

Data Recording

The latest Racepak Pro11 Datalogger with data link software located in the box mounted directly behind the roll cage. System monitors 8 x exhaust temps, fiber optic RPM magneto pick-ups, ignition timing, TDC relative position, driveshaft speed x2, clutch bearing position, clutch temp, clutch hydraulic pressure, blower pressure, fuel pressure at pump, fuel pressure at cylinder head, fuel flow to engine, fuel flow return to tank, oil pressure, blower pressure, front wheel speed, magneto RPM and phase, oil pan pressure, BDK valve ‘on’ time, brake pressure and system internal voltage.

Power Output

Approx. 6500bhp
