  The second round of the 2002 Championship saw John take the win with a storming 5.38/286, the fastest recorded F/C speed outside the USA. Opponent Gordon Smith is in the nearside lane.
     
  The first round of the 2002 Championship saw John set a new Shakespeare County Raceway track record of 5.486 seconds. Opponent Smax is in the near lane.

  1/7/01: The final of the 2001 Cannonball at Santa Pod. In the opposite lane is Lex Joon. John took the win with a 5.39/275 to Lex's 6.04/239.
     
  7/5/01: The final of the first round of the UK Fuel Funny Car Championship at Shakespeare County Raceway. John took the win against Gordon Smith with a 5.56/281, a new European best terminal speed for a funny car and the overall track record at Shakey
     
  16/4/01: A clip from Sharkmans website. The final of the 2001 Pro Fuel Shootout against the Top Fuel Dragster of Andy Carter. The fuel cars struggled to find traction all weekend, as can be seen here. John got back on the throttle to take the win for the second year running with an 8.12/179.
     
  7/5/01: Another of Sharkmans clips. The second of our qualifying runs in the 2000 Cannonball. The car launched well against Shockwave but soon got into severe tyre shake, got a front wheel off the ground and shook the chute out. John regained control and drove it to the line to a 6.14/174, a wild ride!
     
  11/9/99: Another Sharkman Clip. From Santa Pods European Finals meeting. Here we see John (in the Blue & yellow Showtime Avenger) and Gordon Smith pulling side-by-side burnouts before the first match race of the weekend. John won the race with a 6.13/250.
